Itinerary Highlights

Remote Reefs, Wild Encounters!

This southern Red Sea route brings together some of Egypt’s most legendary offshore dive sites — Daedalus Reef, Rocky Island, Zabargad, and the vibrant reefs of Fury Shoals, Marsa Shona, Abu Dabab, and Elphinstone.

Daedalus Reef, a remote offshore seamount marked by its iconic lighthouse, offers a spectacular mix of sheer walls, dense coral growth, and seasonal encounters with hammerheads, oceanic whitetips, manta rays, and more. Heading deeper south, Rocky Island and Zabargad deliver breathtaking diving — with lush reef slopes, dramatic drop-offs, and encounters with schooling fish, curious pelagics, and vibrant reef life. Above water, Zabargad stuns with its jagged peaks and wild, untouched scenery.

The journey continues through Fury Shoals, Marsa Shona, and Abu Dabab, where calm conditions, colourful reefs, and frequent turtle encounters offer a different pace while keeping the diving rich and rewarding. Elphinstone adds to the experience with its dramatic walls, vibrant corals, and high chances of encountering oceanic whitetips — along with many of the Red Sea’s most unforgettable marine moments.

While all pelagic sightings are seasonal and can never be guaranteed, this route consistently delivers some of the best diving the Red Sea has to offer. It’s suited for divers with an Advanced Open Water certification or Deep Dive Speciality — both of which can be completed onboard.

Marsa Shouna Also known as Turtle Bay, this shallow, grassy-bottomed site is known across the Red Sea for giant turtles, coral gardens and some great underwater topography. And if you're very lucky, you might spot a dugong - so keep one eye into the blue

Rocky Island Marine life is beautiful and abundant at Rocky Island. The reef drops to great depth and provides spectacular walls that are covered in coral trees. There's quite a current in this area, but brings with it a mass of marine life. Sitting at 80 - 120m is the SS Maidan, a relatively undisturbed, nearly-complete wreck that was in use during World War I. The SS Maidan is one of the most rarely visited and most beautiful and historic wrecks to be found in the Red Sea (tech divers only).

Elphinstone This expansive dive site is only 12km from shore and is perfect for drifting along walls adorned with lots of coral species. You might see oceanic white tips, hammerheads or reef sharks, so keep an eye out into the blue.

Daedalus Reef Daedalus Reef (also known as Abu Kizan) is in top condition. Known for large schools of hammerheads, divers may also see oceanic white tips, manta rays, thresher and reef sharks in the blue. This isolated reef is packed with Red Sea species and home to a beautiful selection of corals.

Zabargad Offering both wall diving and shallow reefs, Zabargad is the southernmost and largest island in the Red Sea. Spectacular coral gardens are found here with an abundance of marine life. Beautiful hard and soft corals are found in this area with coral gardens stretching into the distance. A haven for reef fish, this is a beautiful site suitable for all levels of diver.

Fury Shoal This glorious collection of reefs has something for everyone. From caves to wall diving, shark sightings to spinner dolphins, this site is suitable for all levels of diver. Offering both shallow and deeper dives, it’s located in the far south, so is quiet with pristine, colourful coral.
